DEGREE WORK:  SECRET CEMETERIES

Degree project 2010

My final project for my degree in textiles and embroidery was a community project based on the Victorian Cemetery at Kensal Green.  The idea was arouse interest in the environment by two things: studying natures effect on what man has made, in the cemetery: mausoleums, grave stones etc and by using natural dyes from sustainable sources to colour and print the fabric. I had a second theme to ignite creativity within the people who were part of the project through the project.
